What is Lakhpati Didi Yojna:
Lakhpati didi scheme is a women empowerment programme launched by the Union Government. Under this programme skill development training and financial assistant will be provided to women across country. This scheme is an initiative of government to aim financial assistant and economic independence. This scheme provide help to women who are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
This is basically focus on making women literate in both finance and skills.
Under this scheme practical skill training according to industry demands will be provided to women such as pluming work, manufacturing of Led lights and drones.
This scheme helps women to start their own venture. Government provide loans and skills training for a kick start of new venture. Proper monitoring and evaluation mechanisms are also implemented to check the growth and impact of this scheme on rural development.
When was lakhpati didi scheme Started?
On 15 august, 2023 PM Modi firstly announced that he is working with Self Help Groups to create 2 crores didis across India. Such as Aaganwadi didi, loan wali didi, medicine wali did etc.
Firstly, this scheme was started in Rajasthan, after the success in Rajasthan Government implemented this across Country.
Presently about 83 lakhs SHGs with 9 crore women working for social and financial development of rural area.

What is the Current target of Lakhpati didi scheme?
Previously the target of this scheme was to create 2 crore didis across India but on 1 feb, 2024 the union government increased its target upto 3 crores. In interim budget finance minister Nirmala Sitaraman announced to enhance lakpati didis target from 2 crores to 3 crores.
Objective of Lakhpati didi Scheme:
There are following objectives of this scheme.
- Providing skill development training to women
- Connecting women to SHGs (Self Help Groups) across country
- Tap skilled rural women into industries.
- Build entrepreneurship into women.
- Providing financial help to skilled women to start their business
- Main focus is to create confidence in women and make them self-reliant.
- Providing gender equality especially in rural areas.
- The main target of this scheme is to empower women and creating a sustainable income at least Rs. 1 lakh per annum per family.
Who are eligible under lakhpati didi scheme? How to apply loan under this scheme?
First criteria is you should be a women because this scheme is especially for women.

What is the process to get loan under lakhpati didi scheme?
To get loan under lakhpati didi scheme, follow these steps
Check your Eligibility:
Before applying for loan, check your eligibility to get loan. This loan is allowed to women from financially weak background.
Collect Documents:
Collect all the necessary documents such as identity proof, address proof, income proof, bank details etc. at the time for application submission these documents are required to be submit.
Connect with SHGs or Aganwadi Center:
After collecting the documents, visit nearest self-help groups center or any nearest Aganwadi center. Collect application form and other necessary information.
Fill and Submit Application Form:
After getting application form from center, fill this form attachment all necessary documents required and submit this form to center.
Verification:
After submission of application form verification process has been started. In this step government agency verify all the information you provided in application form.
Loan approval and disbarment:
If all the information provided in application form is true and authentic then loan will be approved and amount will be sent to your bank account provided in application form.
Monitoring and repayment:
After providing loan government monitor that whether funds are utilized for the purpose mentioned in application form or not. Proper check and monitoring is necessary for the better utilization of funds provided as loan. A proper utilization report has to be submitted to the government.
This loan is interest free but repayment is necessary under the tenure provided for repayment.
